Business class deals straight to your Whatsapp.

Every year, many travellers board on flights to Amsterdam, the capital of the Netherlands and a major city in Western Europe. It is a regional business hub with many multinational corporations and institutions based there. Attractions in the city include the Museumplein and the Red Light District. It is located in the western part of Europe next to the North Sea, with flights to different parts of the world such as the Americas, the rest of Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Asia. Now that Covid restrictions have been eased there, we will see an increase in flights to Amsterdam in the foreseeable future.
Booking a flight to Amsterdam
Many of the tourists find their flights to Amsterdam on search engines such as Skyscanner, Kayak and Momondo. If you are booking a flight to Amsterdam, it may not be cheap as you might be flying from far away. However, below you can find out one trick that can save you money, whether or not you are looking to book a business class or economy class flight.
How to save money on flights to Amsterdam – by transiting at a cheaper airport*
The flight time to Amsterdam can be long, especially if you are travelling from places like Asia or the Americas. Whether you are planning to fly business class or economy class to Amsterdam, the price depends on the airport you are flying from. That means you might be able to save money to fly from a different airport!
Business Class Example – Flight to Amsterdam from Singapore (Saving: US$652)
I took a search on 19th July 2022 on Skyscanner and found that the cheapest business class flight costs US$3,021 from 4th to 17th October, with Lufthansa and Vietnam Airlines.
A cheaper way to fly to Amsterdam

Here’s the trick. I also performed a search on flights from Singapore to Frankfurt, business class for the same dates. The cheapest flight with a lie-flat bed now costs $2,242 (with also just one transit each way, and assuming one would pay $112 less for two transits). That’s also one fewer transit in total than the original option. The provider is Vietnam Airlines, which got a 4-star rating on Skytrax last year (out of 5). Not bad at all, considering that only 10 airlines in the world got 5 stars in 2021!
The remaining flight to book is Frankfurt to Amsterdam. Luckily, the flights are not expensive. Assuming the need for more than 2.5 hours of transit each way, a return flight costs at little as $127.
In total, this route costs $2,369, a saving of $652 in return for only slightly longer travel time!
If you prefer to stay in Frankfurt for a night in order to see the city or to allow more transit time, you can also consider the hotels easily accessible from Frankfurt Airport.
A risk of the indirect options flying to Amsterdam is that the first flight might get delayed and one might miss the next flight which would be expensive to rebook. Therefore, it is important to consider the terms and conditions related to cancellation of the travel agent or airline you are booking with, and consider buying travel insurance to cover the risks and your flights to and from Amsterdam, perhaps including the transit locations too. It is also worth checking visa and Covid-related requirements at the transit airports that will be on your journey to Amsterdam.
